How to Export Binance Trading History - CSV and Report Download

· ~ 14 min read · ChainKer Editorial Team

Keeping accurate records of your trading activity is essential for tax compliance, personal accounting, and performance analysis. Binance makes it easy to export your complete transaction history as a CSV (comma-separated values) file that works with Excel, Google Sheets, and most tax software.

Why Export Your Trading History?

There are several important reasons to regularly download your Binance history:

Tax reporting: In most countries, cryptocurrency gains and losses are taxable events. Your accountant or tax software needs detailed records of every trade, including dates, amounts, prices, and fees.

Performance analysis: Reviewing your trading history helps you identify patterns, evaluate strategies, and understand which trades contributed most to your portfolio growth or losses.

Record-keeping: Exchanges can close, restrict access, or change their data retention policies. Having local copies of your history protects you from losing access to historical data.

Portfolio reconciliation: If you use a third-party portfolio tracker or tax software, you need to import your Binance data to get accurate overall numbers.

What Data Can You Export from Binance?

Binance allows you to export several different types of historical data:

  • Spot Trade History: All completed spot market trades (buy and sell)
  • Order History: All submitted orders (including cancelled ones)
  • Deposit History: All incoming cryptocurrency deposits
  • Withdrawal History: All outgoing cryptocurrency withdrawals
  • Distribution History: Airdrops, bonuses, referral rewards
  • Futures Trade History: Futures contracts traded
  • Earn History: Interest and rewards from savings/staking products
  • Fiat Transaction History: Bank transfers and card purchases

How to Export Spot Trade History (CSV)

Method 1: Via the Orders Section

  1. Log in to Binance
  2. From the top menu, go to Orders
  3. Click Spot Order
  4. Select the Trade History tab
  5. Use the date range selectors to choose your export period
    • You can select up to 3 months at a time per export
    • For a full year, you may need to run multiple exports
  6. Optionally filter by trading pair if you only need specific pairs
  7. Click the Export button (usually a download icon in the top right of the table)
  8. Binance generates the CSV file
  9. Click Download when the file is ready

The exported file includes:

  • Date and time of each trade
  • Trading pair
  • Order side (buy or sell)
  • Order price
  • Quantity filled
  • Total amount
  • Fee paid
  • Fee currency

Method 2: Via Transaction History

  1. Go to Wallet > Transaction History
  2. In the filter options, select the type of transaction you want (Trade, Deposit, Withdrawal, etc.)
  3. Set the date range
  4. Click Export
  5. Download the generated file

How to Export Deposit and Withdrawal History

  1. Go to Wallet > Transaction History
  2. Set the Type filter to Deposit or Withdrawal
  3. Set the date range (up to 3 months per file, or sometimes up to 1 year)
  4. Click Export
  5. Download the CSV

The deposit/withdrawal export includes:

  • Date and time
  • Coin and network
  • Amount
  • Transaction ID (TXID) for on-chain transactions
  • Status (Completed, Pending, etc.)
  • Destination address (for withdrawals)

Using the Binance Tax Report Tool

Binance has a built-in Tax Reporting Tool that streamlines data preparation for tax purposes:

  1. Go to Account > Tax Reporting (may appear as "Transaction Records" or within Account settings depending on your region)
  2. Select the tax year
  3. Choose your country (the tool applies local tax rules)
  4. Binance generates a tax report summary showing:
    • Realized gains and losses
    • Income from staking, airdrops, etc.
    • Transaction totals
  5. Export the report as CSV or PDF

This tool is specifically designed to help with tax filing and saves significant manual calculation work.

How to Export Futures Trading History

  1. Navigate to the Futures section of Binance
  2. Scroll down to the Order panel at the bottom of the futures trading interface
  3. Click the Trade History tab
  4. Set the date range and symbol filter as needed
  5. Click Export to download the CSV

The futures export includes:

  • Contract type (USDT-M or COIN-M)
  • Symbol
  • Side (buy/sell)
  • Price and quantity
  • Realized PnL
  • Trading fee
  • Funding fee received/paid

Supported Date Range and Limitations

Binance's export feature has some constraints:

  • Maximum date range per export: Typically 3 months (varies by data type)
  • Data retention: Binance retains transaction data for a minimum of 5 years, but this may vary by region and data type
  • Large exports: For very active traders with thousands of daily trades, exports can take several minutes to generate

For annual exports, you will need to make at least 4 separate 3-month exports, then combine them in Excel or Google Sheets.

Working with the CSV in Excel or Google Sheets

Once downloaded, you can open the CSV directly in Excel or Google Sheets by importing it:

Excel:

  1. Open Excel
  2. Go to Data > From Text/CSV
  3. Select your downloaded file
  4. Follow the import wizard (comma delimiter, first row as headers)

Google Sheets:

  1. Open Google Sheets
  2. Go to File > Import
  3. Upload the CSV file
  4. Select comma as the delimiter

From there, you can:

  • Sort by date, pair, or profit
  • Add calculated columns (e.g., profit per trade = sell proceeds - buy cost - fees)
  • Create pivot tables for summary statistics
  • Feed the data into tax software

Compatible Tax Software

Several popular crypto tax platforms accept Binance CSV exports:

  • Koinly: Supports Binance CSV and API imports directly
  • CoinTracker: Compatible with Binance transaction exports
  • TaxBit: Accepts Binance history in multiple formats
  • Accointing: Binance integration with CSV and API
  • CryptoTaxCalculator: Handles Binance format natively

These tools automatically calculate capital gains, income from staking, and produce jurisdiction-specific tax reports.

Tips for Managing Your Export Records

  • Export your history quarterly or at least annually — do not wait until tax season
  • Store exported files in a secure, backed-up location (cloud storage + local copy)
  • Keep a log of which date ranges you have already exported to avoid gaps
  • Combine multiple CSV files before importing into tax software to ensure complete history
  • Note the time zone used in exports (Binance typically uses UTC) so dates align correctly with your local tax year
